A new found interest

After Beijing Olympics, I have developed a keen interest in Athletics (interest is strictly restricted to watching it on TV of course) The reason for this is the Jamaican…lightning BOLT. The excitement of 100, 200 and 4*100m race was a new experience for me, but I enjoyed 100m the most. There is always a build up for weeks. Who will it be? Gay, Powell or Bolt? That was the question. Bolt answered it in 9.69s. Thats the beauty of the event. It finishes in less than 10s. And the spirit after it is breathtaking.

Thats why I was looking forward to Golden League Games in Brussels. The same build up. Same contenders. But Gay bailed out at the last moment. So it was between the two Jamaicans. And this time it was more exciting than ever. In Beijing, nobody was within touching distance of Bolt. Not the kind of race you expect in a gold medal clash. At Brussels, Powel got a great start. Till 60m he was a meter ahead of Bolt. And then it stuck. The lightning stuck. It was like Bolt developed an extra pair of legs and zoomed past Powell in a fast-forward motion. Now thats a good race.
